The Appeal
For those who like their vintage motoring original rather than recycled, there’s the original MG TF, the car that was the final flourish of the illustrious T Type line. It’s the last of the classically styled Abingdon sports cars and looks fabulous, as this 1954 1500cc car shows.
Finished in red with bright chrome and a tan roof and interior, it is an older restoration that has been sparingly used by its recent keepers. We’re told that the history file confirms it is a 1954 build. It isn’t badged as a TF 1500 on the wings, but it is fitted with the final 1,466cc XPEG engine as the TF 1500, built from mid 1954.
The vendor tells us that the car has had over £12,000 spent on it since 2010 and was last serviced by specialist CKL Developments. With its recent service, white banded tyres, gleaming chrome wires and useful luggage rack, it looks ready for Spring.
