1954 Sunbeam S7 Deluxe

Highlights

  • Won Second in Class at both the 2023 and 2024 Fraserburgh Vintage Car Rally
  • Restored in the 1980s
  • Extensive paperwork file

The Appeal

Well known for its innovative design and expensive retail price upon release, the Sunbeam S7 has become one of the most clamoured-for motorcycles on the market today. However, they came with a high price back in the day, something Sunbeam answered with their slightly more standardised, and somewhat cheaper 'Deluxe'.

If the public took umbrage at a 'deluxe' model being less advanced than its predecessor, it didn't show in sales. The cheaper bike sold double that of the standard S7 - though this still amounted to only 5,500 total bikes sold over the course of production. As a result, they're still a much-prized motorcycle that have gained an almost mythical status amongst enthusiasts.

The Sunbeam S7 Deluxe is a distinctive and rare motorcycle that stands out for its unique design and engineering. Known for its smooth ride and innovative features, the S7 Deluxe is a cherished model among classic motorcycle enthusiasts. This particular 1954 example is especially noteworthy due to its low mileage of just 1,233 miles, making it a rare find in such well-preserved condition.
This Sunbeam S7 Deluxe has been meticulously maintained and restored, with a frame and tinware repainted in a striking Mist Green gloss finish. It has a rich history, having won Second in Class at both the 2023 and 2024 Fraserburgh Vintage Car Rally. The motorcycle is registered as a Historic Vehicle with an MOT Exemption declaration in place, adding to its appeal for collectors. Mechanically sound and with recent maintenance, this S7 Deluxe is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.
