The Appeal
The Austin A35 Pickup is among the rarest variants in the A35 range. Just 478 were built between 1955 and 1956 as light commercial vehicles aimed at tradesmen and small businesses, sharing their mechanical underpinnings – including the well-known A-Series engine – with the A35 Saloon. The model was quickly discontinued due to limited demand, and surviving examples are now sought after by collectors of British light commercials.
This 1956, left-hand drive example was sold new in Denmark, an unusual destination for a vehicle produced predominantly for the British home market. It's a handsome, genuine working vehicle that comes to us with a handsome patina - an honest, characterful car that's bound to attract plenty of attention.
