The Appeal
The Jaguar XK150 represents the final evolution of Jaguar's revolutionary XK series, offering more power, improved brakes, and greater refinement than its predecessors. This 1957 example has been thoughtfully upgraded for enhanced touring capabilities while maintaining its classic character.
Renovated in 2009 by specialist establishments Jofilcar for bodywork and Lorenzini Autosport in Lisbon, this XK150 features numerous mechanical improvements, including an engine upgrade from 3.4 to 3.8 litres, hydraulic power steering, and enhanced braking.
Currently registered in France with a Carte Grise de Collection, this Jaguar embodies everything great about classic British grand tourers with modern reliability, making it a compelling option for enthusiasts seeking a classic that can be enjoyed on extended journeys.
Paint has aged well since 2009, with some barely visible micro-scratches; would benefit from simple polishing
Slight deformation of the rear bumper
Leather seats and rear benches present well
Door panel trim and dashboard are also in very good order
As the photographs show, this Jaguar presents exceedingly well for its age. There are a few small imperfections to note, but nothing that significantly detracts from this being a very fine example of this beautiful post-war GT. The bodywork looks straight and solid, the doors appear to fit well, and the folding roof reportedly latches as it should. The paint finish is very good overall, with a little "orange peel" in places and a few fine scratches noted by the vendor. The chrome looks good too, including the wire wheels, while the vendor notes a slight deformation of the rear bumper. Overall, a very presentable example of the model.
Original 3.4 engine replaced in 2009 during renovation with a 3.8 engine
Engine always maintained by specialists, starts immediately, whether hot or cold, we are told
Improvements made since the total renovation in 2009 include:
Aluminium fuel tank
Aluminium radiator
Electric cooling fan
Electronic ignition
Koni shock absorbers
4-piston front brake callipers
Stainless steel exhaust system
Hydraulic power steering
Large diameter front stabilizer bar
Clutch, flywheel, transmitter and receiver changed in 2017
The vendor notes that the Jaguar is very pleasant to drive with a powerful engine that revs quickly. The additional performance from its 3.8-litre XK straight-six is reported to make a notable difference, while the other upgrades noted above all contribute to this being an eminently usable car.image.png3.25 MB
