The Appeal
Perhaps, 70 years on, it is easy to miss the point. But the MGA was a radical step change for Britain’s most traditional of sports car makers. After years of cars that echoed the pre-war style, the appropriately named A was a clean-sheet design. A fresh start.
Unfussy, sleek aerodynamic styling put the car at odds with the competition and set MG up for market-leading success in America. It also explains the car’s enduring appeal with enthusiasts. And thanks to great parts and club support, plus an enthusiastic owner scene, these are thoroughly rewarding cars to own and enjoy.
This early 1500 Mk1 displays all the reasons why these care are so popular. Classically finished in Orient Red over black leather it is pleasingly factory standard and in superb condition - certainly one of the best we have seen recently. Danish registered and in the hands of its enthusiast keeper for the last 13 years it has been used regularly - so should be usefully reliable - and regularly serviced.

- If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
- If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.
