The Appeal
So-called 'Microcars' were highly popular during the 1950s, offering many families affordable motorised transport for the first time in their lives. The Italian Isetta design was particularly successful; built under license by BMW.
This 1959 example is the BMW Isetta 300, a model introduced to meet changing tax and licensing rules in West Germany at the time. As the photographs attest, this Isetta is a lovely example that benefits from extensive restoration. The bodywork has been restored and refinished in the period-correct Roseda colour, the cabin has been fully retrimmed, and the engine and gearbox have been comprehensively reconditioned.
This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of automotive history that the vendor comments presents as if it just rolled out of the showroom.image.png2.38 MB
