The MGA marked a bold new direction for MG when it arrived in 1955, replacing the traditional upright styling of its T-series predecessors with a sleek, aerodynamic body that looked every inch the modern sports car. This 1959 example was imported from Australia in 2006, where its previous owner, a mechanic, maintained it to a high standard and regularly showed it. Now finished in British Racing Green following a respray carried out over seven years ago, it is reported to be highly original with no known modern-day modifications. The vendor states that the shell is exceedingly solid and the car has never been welded, thanks to its Australian provenance and the wax-oiled underside, which is said to show no signs of deterioration.
