The Appeal
Venieri were in a transitionary period in the 1960s. The company had already carved out an impressive reputation via simple cottage-industry focus - famously, they would be displayed at the Piazza Garibaldi market in Lugo, close to the company's headquarters, getting their farm machines in front of thousands of producers and livestock farmers.
1960 saw Venieri move towards heavier duty machines, but they were still producing tractors simultaneously. Most were crawlers, which makes this VRD CV35 a particularly unique machine, thanks to its 4x4 drivetrain - and the 35hp three-cylinder engine, which proved to be quite the hardy plant in its day.
This particular example is believed to be the only one of its kind currently in the UK and Europe. It has been permanently imported from the Netherlands with all duties and taxes paid, and registration is currently pending. A former keeper undertook a restoration, and more recently a service and mechanical restoration have been carried out. It's a truly remarkable bit of agricultural exotica, and we think it'll be worthy of plenty of interest at auction. DSC06939.jpg12.9 MB
