The Appeal
Before Ferruccio Lamborghini turned his attention to grand touring cars, his name was already well established in the agricultural world. The Lamborghini 1R, produced in the early 1960s at the factory in Cento, is a charming product of that era, and the Vigneto variant, purpose-built for vineyard work, is among the rarest of all. Its compact dimensions, low speed and narrow profile made it ideally suited to working between rows of vines, and very few examples were manufactured.
This 1961 example has been extensively restored between 2023 and 2024 by a retired collector and specialist mechanic with particular expertise in Lamborghini tractors. The work included mechanical, electrical and cosmetic overhauls, with all badges, lights and seals either replaced or restored. A handful of sensible modern additions have also been made.
Resplendent in its vivid livery and brimming with mid-century Italian character, this little Lamborghini would make a wonderful addition to any collection, whether displayed alongside its more famous automotive descendants or put to gentle use in the countryside.
