The Appeal
The MG MGA represents a genuine departure from the T-series models it replaces. Its modern and aerodynamic design constitutes a radical evolution compared to its predecessors, whilst the Coupé version, with its fixed roof, adds an extra touch of elegance and comfort, whilst still offering greater everyday versatility without losing the sporting character inherent to the MGA.
Today, the MGA benefits from a solid enthusiast community and remains a classic car that is as pleasurable to drive as it is to maintain.
This left-hand drive example, presented in an elegant combination of black with red interior, has benefited from a complete restoration during its long period of current ownership. Completed in 2011 by its owner, who undertook this project after his retirement, the work was carried out under the supervision of a professional mechanic specialising in classic cars.
The work was particularly extensive. The chassis was fully restored, corroded bodywork elements were replaced after shot-blasting, then the shell was protected with an epoxy primer before receiving a complete respray with lacquer finish. The interior was entirely renovated and the 1,600 cc engine was removed and rebuilt with numerous new components.
Accompanied by an MOT valid until April 2028 and well-documented service history, this MGA Coupé represents a particularly appealing example.
