The Appeal
The joy of the Mk2 is that the criminals were just as likely to turn up at court in one as the barristers. Although the later S-Type got the E-Type rear axle, both cars had the power plus the space for ‘colleagues’ that made them perfect for legal and more nefarious errands.
Those qualities make a good Mk2 perfect as a touring car. This lovely ‘62 Mk2 would do that job very well because it has the big 3.8 XK motor, relaxing auto box and manouvrable power steering.
Finished in fetching black over a tan leather cabin, it was professionally restored - and converted to RHD - soon after arriving from a dry American state over 30 years ago. The work has held up very well indeed, helped by sparing use and a single long term keeper.
This is a lovely, characterful Mk2 that has the right specification to enable the buyer to really enjoy these stylish, relaxing cars.
