The Appeal
Deeply tactile, capable and distinctly more masculine than many of its contemporaries, the TR4 has always been a hairy-chested rendition of the legendary British sports car - but Triumph weren't blind to its faults. These car offered a rather rough ride thanks to its bouncy rear axle, and so they refined it, redesigned it and rebuilt it to carry a new Independent Rear Suspension.
The new car, the TR4A, featured a semi-trailing arm system with coil springs and lever-arm shocks, adapted largely from the Triumph 2000 formula. It revolutionised the car's ride quality in a big way, and refined the Triumph roadster into a logic peak. Coupled with the handsome, square-jawed Michelotti styling and larger 4-cylinder block, it's a real keystone for the legendary British sports car.
This 1966 example has been subject to plenty of work in recent years, and really does make for an utterly excellent driver's car. Refined yet rugged and capable, this handsome roadster is ready and waiting for its lucky new owner.image.png3.44 MB
