The Appeal
With its impressive Pininfarina boat-tail styling, responsive twin-cam powerplant and pure Italian glamour, the Spider managed to carve out a niche of its own against the swathe of British sports cars that were going worldwide. It was a masterful roadster from top to bottom, and quickly became the nimble little roadster of choice for Europe and beyond.
The Alfa Romeo Spider 'Duetto' is the purest expression of the Spider, with its elegant Pininfarina-designed 'boat-tail' styling and responsive twin-cam engine. Immortalised by Dustin Hoffman in 'The Graduate', these early round-tail Spiders are now the most collectable of all Spider variants, prized for their purity of design and driving experience.
Originally delivered to New Jersey in 1968. Imported to the UK in 1989 and underwent a full restoration before being sold by marque specialist Lombarda of Notting Hill in 1997. Having covered just 8,315 miles since restoration, and benefiting from a comprehensive mechanical recommissioning in 2024, this Spider is a thoroughly well-sorted classic that's ready and waiting for its lucky new owner.
