The Appeal
The 'Big Fords' were a jumbo-sized staple of the company's British product range, and throughout their run, sat comfortably at the top of the food chain. Designed independently by Ford of Britain - the last of the company's presence to be so - the Zodiac MK4 was arguably the most American of the lot, thanks to its distinctly simple facade, huge wheelbase and squared angles.
Of course, this side of the Atlantic, we're not best equipped for big cars. The lower-trimmed variants were known for being a little bit like sailing an ocean liner through the road network, but the upmarket Zodiac MK4. That had power steering and, by all accounts, was the car to go for. Their cavernous cabins were comfortable yet sporty - perfectly capturing that same flash-in-the-pan styling of the Mustang's interior trim.
Powered by the familiar Essex V6, that big old car has got a big old chunk of muscle under the bonnet, too - and has gone down as one of the UK's most interesting retro Fords, in a world where Cortinas tend to dominate.
This imposing example boasts a distinctive black livery and is ready and waiting for its lucky new owner.
