The Background
The Jaguar Mark 2 is a midsize luxury sports saloon built from late 1959 to 1967 by Jaguar.
The Mark 2 came with a number of engine options with this model being the 3.4litre variant which pushed out 210 bhp (157 kW; 213 PS), which is not to be sniffed at today let alone in 1967. The head of the six-cylinder engine in the Mark 2 had curved ports compared to the straight ports of the E-Type configuration. The 3.4 Litre cars were fitted with twin SU HD6 carburetors.
Due to its “Grace, Space , Pace” which was the slogan used to advertise the big cat when it hit the showrooms , the Mk2 was well thought of amongst bank robbers and gangsters for being a powerful and very well handling saloon that had ample storage space for any precious cargo and the legs to outrun the police if needed.
The History
This particular MK2 Jag has been in the current owner's possession for 36 years. In this time the current owner and his family have enjoyed many holidays in it , crossing many countries across Europe and visiting Le Mans more times than can be counted.
The car has been maintained regardless of cost and has all of the necessary paperwork to back the history up. Unfortunately due to lack of use the owner has decided its time to part with it.
The car has seen a fresh respray some years ago and an interior retrim circa 11 years ago and it looks all the better for it.
The Paperwork
The V5C is present and a huge stack of receipts/invoices for all the work carried out over the years. The car does have a vast amount of history behind it which is well documented.
The Interior
The interior on this vehicle is in fantastic condition having benefited from a retrim circa 11 years ago and has seen little use since. The black leather seats are particularly clean with no wear.
There are all of the period correct fixtures and fittings as would be expected in a 1967 MK2 Jag and the leather plus wood trim has a really classy feel about it.
The only item that currently has a fault is the clock (time, not mileage)
The Exterior
The exterior of this vehicle has seen fresh paint some years ago in 1995. As you can see from the photos the paintwork has been kept in fine condition since then and still looks stunning in the original British Racing Green.
The chromework is in great condition too with minimal pitting and the chrome wire wheels are in very good condition. The rear bumper does have two extra holes where a tow bar once sat.
There are a few minor 10p sized dings as pictured. These have not broken the paint.
The Mechanics
Mechanically the car is in well maintained condition and receipts are present for regular servicing and maintenance. There are no awkward knocks or bangs and she fires up on the button and sounds great.
The engine did have an overhaul around 8/9 years ago with some corrective cylinder head work.
The Appeal
This particular Mark 2 was dispatched by Jaguar in August of 67 making part of the last ones ever made . It has had a low number of owners and has been well loved and thoroughly enjoyed throughout its life.
It has been a cherished part of the family with many happy memories created in it and little need for it recently is the only reason it is up for sale.
British Racing Green is one of the absolute best colours for any Jaguar, it's their calling card, their classic look. With the chrome wheels, bumpers and accents, wooden steering wheel, and stunning leather interior this car will absolutely turn heads wherever you take it.
If you're looking to buy a Mk2 Jag, this particular vehicle has to be worth a closer look.

About Max Bids
The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.
Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.
Anti-sniping
Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.
Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.
Auto-bidding increments
If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Automatically outbid immediately
When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.
You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.
Matching max bids
When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.
Pre-authorisation
We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.
What are pre-bids?
A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.
Problem with your bid
Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
