The Appeal
Introduced in 1963, the Ford Lotus Cortina - or the far more convoluted ”Consul Cortina developed by Lotus” - was always going to be a dead cert for the market. With its slightest twinge of American styling, an evocative coachline and boxy cabin, the Lotus Cortina was packed full of performance parts and practically lived and breathed racing acumen.
If you need proof this legendary ability, let us introduce this little marvel. Possibly the most successful Lotus Cortina MK2 in the country, this car was refitted to race spec from day one and has spent a very successful life on the track. The BARC/CSCC championship, Spa, Le Mans, Goodwood - you name it, this car has probably done it and picked up a certificate.
Dry stored for the past twelve years, this remarkable Cortina has been recently recommissioned and rebuilt by the legendary Paul Exon, and now comes to us ready and waiting to hit the circuit again, carrying a tantalising patina from a truly unique, storied life on the tarmac.
Of course, if you feel it's time for this stored car to enter a leisurely retirement, it's also completely road-legal and eminently drivable.
