The Appeal
Of the many cars penned by Paul Bracq, the W111 coupe is unquestionably a highlight. The long, simple lines are deceptively handsome, helped along by clever details like the distinctive stacked headlights and chrome touches.
Black is a good colour with which to appreciate that work, as this lovely 1968 280SE shows. It is a later car with the desirable M130 fuel injected 155bhp engine. The interiors on these cars are as delightful as the bodywork and the tan leather of this one is beautifully kept.
Recent work to the brakes, electrics and fuelling system mean that the car reaches the buyer in great order. A recently renewed Controle Technique with one minor advisory underlines that point.
This is a very good example of one of the finest coupes of the 1960s and one that is in the right specification.
