The Appeal
While it began life as a replacement for the Austin Healey 3000, in reality, the MGC became Abingdon’s E-Type. Well-suited to long-distance touring, the six-cylinder MGC was all about torque and high-speed cruising ability; just the sort of car to traverse the autoroutes of continental Europe.
This 1968 example is the GT model, following the same naming conventions as the ubiquitous MGB. As the photographs attest, this car is exceedingly smart for its age, finished in a jolly shade of red, complemented by a set of gleaming wire wheels.
The MG has clearly been very well looked after over the years, and it has also been submitted for MOT testing, passing first time with no advisories. Just 4,457 MGC GTs were ever made, and few exist today. So, if you’ve always promised yourself one of these lovely cars, you can’t afford to miss this excellent example.
