The Appeal
The MGC channelled the ethos of the Austin Healey 3000 into a thoroughly modern take on the big-engined open-top roadster theme. Today, these are very rare MG variants, particularly when fitted with the automatic gearbox.
Only a handful of UK RHD Roadsters got this option - estimates vary between 100 and 335 for - and today you will likely struggle to find another. They make a really good classic choice because the relaxed BMC C-Series is designed for long-legged cruising.
This 1968 car adds pretty Primrose paintwork, bright chrome wires and a retrimmed black leather interior, complete with walnut veneers, to that gearbox and engine combination. The vendor’s husband bought it in 2019 and it has received continuous improvement since. Notable highlights including a useful electric power steering kit, attention to the rear brakes, a battery and four new Pirelli P1 tyres.
It is clearly a well kept and much-loved car. The fact that it comes to market with a recent voluntary MOT, from June 2024, with no advisories confirms the fact. It adds extra transparency for the buyer.
