The Appeal
For classic Land Rover enthusiasts, the Series IIA is the much-admired sweet spot in a long, long lineage. It refined the step-change that was the Series III, but avoids the over-complexity that some feel arrived with the Series III. No surprise, then, that good examples like this pretty Pastel Green ‘69 have been comprehensively restored and readied for a large band of enthusiastic collectors.
The key to any Land Rover restoration is the knowledge of the builder and the resultant quality of the work. Looking at the photos of this tidy petrol-engined rarity, it’s clear that the work was done well. The panels fit well, the paint finish is even and impressive, and there is a valuable galvanised chassis to provide longevity.
The vendor bought it in 2024 from a renowned classic Land Rover specialist. It came with a large number of invoices documenting recent work, which you can see in the photos. There has been attention to the brakes, suspension, ignition system and clutch. Since acquisition, he has added a heritage-style steering wheel, a new tan canvas roof, black vinyl seats and new AT tyres. It was serviced in July 2026, and we are told that it runs and drives well.
The vendor says:
“A genuine Land Rover Series IIA that has been much loved, and in excellent condition. Fun to drive.”
