A wave of nostalgia is often felt when coming across the iconic Triumph roadster and sports car, the TR6.
Square cut aggressive lines and a handy 150 BHP under the bonnet made the TR6 extremely popular, with the majority produced being exported to foreign markets.
This UK supplied RHD car was restored from the chassis up around twenty years ago and has done less than a thousand miles since, naturally only on sunny dry days, and was acquired by the vendor in 2016 from the car’s previous owner of 13 years, who was the retired engineer responsible for the very thorough and impressive restoration.

When the car was finally put up for sale he bought it instantly being aware of the depth of the restoration and the obvious attraction of the stylish classic British roadster.n0T2P149IVakBwjJQOEgRN9FKg5Qn8dLy3A5JJ9P.jpg441.5 KB
The Interior
Nice original black interior with the seats being recently re-foamed and re-padded using the original vinyl seat covers
A few marks on the driver’s seat bolster
Nice wooded dashboard, fading a little in places, but no cracks or damage
Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel and wooden gear knob
Good door cards and carpets
No cracks to dashboard with all instruments and gauges working as they should
Nicely presented and original interior with the gentle patina of age in places makes the cabin of the TR6 a great place to be. Everything is reported to be working as it should, with the boot containing a spare wheel and jack, and the engine bay being particularly clean and impressive.
The Exterior
Signal Red body and paintwork having had a full bare metal respray
Seams in the rear wings are beginning to crack and will need some attention
A small scratch on the passenger side front wing which has been roughly painted over
A few stone chips and the odd small imperfection to be found in the otherwise excellent paintwork
Steel wheels and tyres all in good condition
Badges and external trim all present
Underneath appears good, clean and solid having been fully under-sealed
All chrome, with the exception of the rear bumper is in very good condition
Black hood in good shape with nice and clear rear windows and goes up and down smoothly
Doors look like they could do with some minor adjustment to sharpen their fit
Some small paint cracking on the rear boot-lid lip
Lights all work and, other than a very small crack in an indicator lens, are free from any cracks or damage
A great looking TR6 from any angle with only a few minor imperfections that certainly don’t detract from the overall presence and desirability of this great British sportscar.
The Mechanics
Fuel injection and 150 BHP
4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive
Engine rebuilt
Suspension and brake system completely overhauled and renovated
Recent full service
Less than 1,000 miles since restoration completion
Recent oil and filter service
Stripped to its bare chassis and rebuilt from the ground up by its previous enthusiast owner the car is in great all-round mechanical shape and benefits from a recent new clutch and stainless steel rear exhaust box.
Starting first turn of the key with good acceleration through the gears and firm straight line braking, the TR6 is a joy to drive, especially with the roof down when you can fully appreciate the glorious sound of the engine and its exhaust note.
Fully serviced and with a fresh MOT this car is ready to drive away and enjoy on the open roads.
The Summary
A great opportunity to acquire a very nicely restored, sorted and solid TR6 that should prove to be a great investment and a fun car to own and drive, especially on those warm and sunny summer days and nights.
