The Appeal

Porsches have always been aspirational cars, drawing in petrol heads from around the world and it is clear to see why when you get behind the wheel of this beautifully restored 911 T. With a simple turn of the key, she fires into life and performs amazingly whilst out and about.
This car has had a lot of work carried out over the past few years and it is now ready to get out and about. Presented in amazing condition this will be the pride of your collection, a car that you can stare at all day, and then go for a late cruise in the evening sun.

The History and Paperwork

  • Originally a California car, this 911 made its way to the UK in 2014
  • Ending up in Devon the previous owner did a few key jobs that you can now enjoy
  • One of the first jobs carried out is a full top-end rebuild of the engine
  • All in this was just under £10,000 worth of work. Since then it has covered a few thousand miles
  • The re-build also includes an upgrade to oil-fed chain tensioners
  • Between 2014 and 2020 only a handful of miles are covered between the services
  • In 2020 the previous owners gets a letter from Porsche Cars GB that confirms the origin of the car
  • In the same year, the current owner acquires the car after a full report from Williams Crawford
  • During their ownership, they have carried out a long list of jobs, and have spent thousands getting it to this condition
  • Some of these works include an overhaul of the braking system, fuel system, and a new Electronic CDI unit from Classic Retrofit (the original one is present should you wish to swap them)
  • Inside, the seats have been fully restored, and the rest of the cabin has been restored but not replaced
  • A lot of the parts needed have been sourced from Design 911 and are of top quality
  • There is a neatly prepared folder of paperwork ready to go with the car, this includes previous invoices, shipping information, the important V5, and even a new Porsche classic service record book

The Interior

  • Fully restored to original condition
  • Newly re-trimmed seats
  • Great hidden stereo system
  • New carpets
  • Great place to sit and enjoy the best roads
Upon opening the brilliant blue doors, you are met with an incredibly well-presented interior space that is sure to hold many happy memories for you in the future. Presented very well indeed, all you need to do is sit down, strap in, and go!
Let’s start by looking at the front seats. These have been totally restored inside and out. The original material has been matched like for like with this stunning-looking patterned material. Unsurprisingly both the front seats are presented in amazing condition. Just behind these seats are two smaller and still original seats that you could squeeze your friends into if you wish, but you could use them as extra storage for those classic road trips across Europe.
Below these seats, you will find a newly fitted set of carpets that, of course, are in amazing condition too. One nuance that this example has over the original is found around the gear stick. Original the rubber boot would sit under the carpet, making it a little untidy, so the current owner has improved on this by placing the plate and boot over the carpet instead. This makes for cleaner lines across the centre.
Moving up towards the original dash, we can see that this is presented in amazing condition as well. Are you noticing a theme here? It has been restored in a way to keep the original look and feel, with all of the classic and recognisable VDO dials still in place. A slightly hidden feature of the interior is the sound system. A Bluetooth system has been fitted with an amplifier, when you’re out and about this stereo is amazing and just adds to the driving experience of this Porsche.
Most of the parts have been restored/recommissioned, which means that you will find little bits of patina across the cabin, but this helps keeps this example identity as a used and loved classic Porsche.
Although the interior is in overall amazing condition, you will find a slight tear to the headliner around the driver’s courtesy light. But this shouldn’t put you off at all, as there is little to no work needed inside this cabin.
The restoration didn’t stop with the cabin, it also extended to the boot at the front. This has been nicely cleaned up and also fitted with a new carpet. With the carpet removed you can find the toolkit and restored original Porsche steel spare wheel.
Overall, the interior of this Porsche is in amazing condition and ready to go. When you get behind the wheel of this classic you will never want to get out, it is captivating.

The Exterior

  • Presented in a pretty Pastel Blue
  • Excellent chrome work
  • Fitted with LED daytime running lights
  • Recently polished
  • Great wheel condition
If you weren’t already excited by the interior condition, then hopefully, the exterior condition will seal the deal. Doesn’t this example just look beautiful sitting there in the Victorian-era street amongst an avenue of trees?
It is believed that the car was treated to a re-spray in 2012, so whilst it was still in America. The current owner mentioned that it probably wasn’t carried out at Porsche themselves, but by a competent spray shop instead. Because of this, there are a few small blemishes around the car. One of these can be found on the offside rear pillar, in the right light you can spot it, but most of the time it remains hidden.
The current owner has just been over the car to fill in a few stone chips and rectify another small area. It now looks amazing from every angle.
This example sits on four amazing rims, they are presented in very good condition indeed. Not only should the condition be noted, but the fact that they are all shod with the same Pirelli rubber is always an encouraging sign.
Once you set eyes upon this car in person you will instantly fall in love. The lines of this classic Porsche are only enhanced by the brilliant Pastel Blue paint job. There is no doubt that this car will sit very well within your collection.

The Mechanics

  • Top-end rebuild in 2014
  • Electronic CDI box fitted
  • Amazing on the road
  • Dog-leg manual gearbox
Now we have reached the part where this 1970s sports car will come into its own. Of course, the interior and exterior condition is important, but for a 911, it’s the mechanical parts that need to work in harmony.
Luckily, that’s exactly what they do in this example. As we have mentioned the top-end of the engine was rebuilt in 2014 at 75,000 miles, at this time upgraded oil-fed tensioners were put in place to further enhance the reliability of the engine. Since then, the current owner has also fitted an electronic CDI box which means the engine is always at its best.
The dogleg five-speed manual gearbox fitted to this car is sometimes known to be a bit difficult as they get older. But, as you would probably expect, this has also received some attention and now works amazingly with no crunching out on the road.
On the day of the photoshoot, the car was taken for a drive to and from the location. Firing straight up every time and driving extremely well in all conditions. The sound of the six-cylinder behind, twinned with the great stereo system makes for a memorable drive that you won’t forget in a hurry.
You need to get behind the wheel of this 911 and experience the true thrills of a classic Porsche. It is a very rewarding drive that you will never tire of.

Summary

What we have here is an amazing example of an analogue 911. It performs all of its tasks elegantly whilst turning a few heads out and about.
You will be inheriting the meticulous work of the current owner, who has made sure that this car has been rebuilt properly. One of the benefits of being a LHD car is that you can explore the roads of Europe without the difficulties that a RHD version would have.
This is one of those cars that needs to be driven, once you get behind the wheel, you’ll understand what we’re talking about. Enjoy this one, it is a rare find.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
