The Appeal
The world of classic motoring would be considerably less joyful, characterful and entertaining without the Herald convertible. It brought open top family motoring to the masses and remains one of the most robust, easy-to-maintain convertible classics you can buy.
The current keeper of this pretty 13/60 bought it in 2024. It had been in long term storage for a few years, so he sent it to a classic car specialist for recommissioning. Subsequent work has involved welding to the chassis, carburettor overhaul, servicing and fuel system repairs, all of which is documented in photos and invoices.
The car is a late model 13/60 convertible that was repainted in red some years ago and also retrimmed in a smart two-tone finish. Appealing upgrades include an attractive set of JBW Minilite-style alloys and a pair of retrimmed Fiat X1/9 high-back front seats. There is scope for the buyer to build on the recent work, but it looks ready to enjoy.
The vendor says:
“The car is a lovely-looking car and very enjoyable to drive. It’s definitely a little eye catcher, and gets lots of admiring comments from many a passer-by. It’s with great reluctance that we’re selling her as we are moving abroad, but I’m sure she will make the next lucky owner very happy and envied wherever they travel.”
