By the 1970s, the gleefully anachronistic Beetle was beginning to face the end of its golden age - but it was still the company's best seller and by far one of the world's most iconic cars. It's this that drove its counterculture image, and it's arguably the '70s vehicles that the public is most familiar with.
This car has had only a single registered keeper from new, having been originally purchased by the vendor's grandfather in 1971 and remaining in the same family ever since. Garaged for its entire 55-year life and accompanied by a full service history, this Beetle has clearly been cherished throughout its time with the family and is now waiting to meet its lucky new owner.
A little work is required before this handsome bug can return to the road, but it's an excellent starting point and will no doubt prove a very rewarding project for the enthusiast. _DSC1901.jpg2.15 MB

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
