Leaning forward purposefully and looking pretty mean this Dodge Demon is fitted with a 5.2 litre V8 and 3-speed automatic transmission so there’s plenty of available power to go with its muscle car image.
With its loud paint colour and even louder exhaust system everyone is certain to see and here you coming, so this is probably not a choice for anyone shy and retiring, but for those who don’t fit into that category and fancy something distinctive and as American as Coca-Cola, read on.
The History and Paperwork
First registered in 1972
Imported from Texas in 2019
Current owner purchased it in 2021
V5c present showing only 2 UK owners
£8,000 recently spent
Purchased by the current owner only last year the relatively rare Dodge Demon was in need of some renovation to get it back to a good useable condition, with considerable attention being needed to the suspension, brakes and cooling system.
The car was lovingly rebuilt as necessary and has been out doing the occasional wedding and used for mostly recreational and fun driving.
The Interior
Mostly original interior
New front seats
Bluetooth and DAB audio system with extra speakers
Wooden steering wheel
Finished in black the mostly original interior is pretty good for its age but does show some signs of use as you’d expect but overall it does its job and has had new seats with three-point seat belts and a classy wooden steering wheel to sharpen up its looks considerably.
Carpets, headlining and the door cards are all very acceptable and the driver’s instruments have been increased with the addition of a separate tachometer to help keep an eye on the engine revs.
*The speedometer does not work and so the mileage shown as 41,817 has been showing that for a while so its true mileage is unknown.
The Exterior
Believed to be original paintwork
Great condition original wheels with new rubber
New bonnet scoops and electric boot opening fitted
Certainly noticeable and looking very cool from a distance the paintwork is not in the greatest of shape but, coming from the dry state of Texas, there is very little evidence of corrosion to worry about.
There are several paint chips, scratches and imperfections in the paintwork, which could easily be addressed with wrapping the car in a suitable colour way which was the current owner’s intention, or some remedial paintwork.
Some of the chrome work around the car, although still nice and shiny, has a few dings here and there
The car sits nice and squarely on its brand new suspension and under the bonnet you get a glimpse of the car’s true performance potential with a very tidy and nicely presented engine bay.
The Mechanics
5.2 Litre V8 3-speed automatic
New suspension
New brakes and pipes
New battery and alternator
New aluminium radiator and coolant pipes
Top-end engine rebuild
The car is reported to be in excellent mechanical health having been fully rebuilt and tuned for optimum performance and smooth running.
The wiring loom has virtually been completely renewed, new suspension and brakes fitted all round with the whole cooling system being upgraded and improved to keep the large V8 nice and cool.
It sounds like thunder and goes like thunder with no issues to report.
Summary
A lesser known and, mechanically well-sorted, American muscle car that has plenty to offer in terms of performance, aggressive looks and road presence.

About Max Bids
The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.
Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.
Anti-sniping
Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.
Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.
Auto-bidding increments
If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Automatically outbid immediately
When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.
You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.
Matching max bids
When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.
Pre-authorisation
We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.
What are pre-bids?
A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.
Problem with your bid
Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
