Comes with a new headlining ready for installation
The Appeal
Update - Thank you to the Capri specialist Alan for emailing in to inform us that this appears to be an extremely rare Ebony Black Special Edition. According to Alan There are only 6 known examples currently taxed and on the road (including one owned by Alan) with a handful of others awaiting restoration.
From the day it hit the Brussels Motor Show in 1969, the Capri became Ford's most popular European product. Intended as a more civilised, less brash interpretation of the Mustang formula, the Capri became a prized executive car - the car everybody wanted and everybody envied. In the 70s and 80s, everybody knew somebody with a Capri, and usually swore under their breath every time they saw them driving it. It's one of those essential classics today - a car loaded with nostalgia and character.
The 70s saw a lot of Capris, but the GT XLR was undeniably top of the MK1s range - and quickly became the prized of the prized. Exclusive to the GT, the XLR trim pack was the X, L, and R trim combined. That impressive options list combined with a desirable 2.0L V4 powerplant makes for quite a car.
Having been in its current ownership for ten years, this Capri has been garaged and preserved as an unstarted renovation project. It now offers a top-notch opportunity for the dedicated enthusiast to take under their wing and complete.
