The Appeal
For many, if you conjure up the image of the classic sports car, the MGB is probably very close to mind - but the European weather isn't the most reliable thing, and it's for exactly that reason that the lads in Abingdon created the GT. With a fixed roof and an irrevocably stylish fastback design, it was sleek, comfortable and versatile - without massively detracting from the base's cars oh-so-engaging formula.
The MGB GT continues to evoke plenty of attention, a perfectly evolved formula of the base car, and you generally see them absorbing enormous mileage at the hands of enthusiastic drivers, while simultaneously ploughing through the often sharp end of the European climate. A dry-stored, solid example, then, has never been more popular.
This French-registered example is a fine ambassador, with a handsome blue livery, black cabin and a history of dry storage. It's an exceedingly well-specified, well-kept car, and we're certain it'll garner plenty of attention at auction.
