The Appeal
In the world of classic British two-seater sports cars, the Jensen-Healey is something special. As a brand new, ground-up design with a race-derived twin cam Lotus 2L 140bhp engine, it was advanced and capable in a way that, by the early 70s, few of its rivals were. All good reasons to pick one of these rare cars over a more familiar alternative.
Here is car number 762, a very early Mark 1 in red with a smart grey racing stripe and roundel to spice things up. It is a tidy, clearly much-loved car that has been serviced annually by a specialist since the vendor acquired it in 2021. Other work includes two replacement seats. There is also a useful recent voluntary MOT from April 2025 with no structural advisories.
Marrying two of British motoring’s most illustrious names, the Jensen-Healey is one of those cars that rewards those lucky few who get to try it.
The vendor says:
“I had a Jensen when I was in my late twenties, and I wanted to relive the experience of driving it again. Very underrated sports car with a beautiful pencil outline. Sale due to my age, not the cars!”
