The Appeal

The classic Range Rover is arguably one of the most iconic vehicles to ever grace the roads and has built a truly impressive legacy. It was a vehicle initially produced to meet American automotive market trends, with the aim of providing a comfortable, utility vehicle with off-road capability.
Since then, the Range Rover has slowly moved away from its original “car for all reasons” ethos and has instead progressed into a luxury SUV. As such, many enthusiasts are left longing for the glory days, searching for tidy examples of a true Range Rover.

This particular Range Rover offers a superb opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors alike, presenting a fully restored example with incredibly low mileage. As a result of its restoration, the vehicle is in superb condition both inside and out, boasting excellent mechanical health.
This is certainly a rare opportunity that should be jumped upon by anyone searching for their next collection piece.

The History and Paperwork

  • South African import
  • 1 UK owner
  • Very low mileage example
  • Fully restored in 2020
  • NOVA certified
This classic Range Rover spent the majority of its life in Pretoria, South Africa, where it has likely experienced far drier conditions than it would have here in the UK. Not too long before the vehicle was exported to the UK, the previous owner had the vehicle fully restored by a Land Rover specialist in South Africa.
As the included images reflect, the restoration process was certainly very thorough, consisting of a full-body-off rebuild, mechanical overhaul, and fresh paintwork. Not long after its restoration, the vehicle was imported to the UK in 2021, where it now sits ready to be registered and used on the road.
Included with the vehicle are the South African log book and NOVA certification.

The Interior

  • Tan leather interior
  • Excellent condition
  • Partially retrimmed
  • Original headlining
  • Exmoor carpeting
A peek inside the cabin reveals a gorgeous partially retrimmed Tan interior, that contrasts perfectly against the fresh blue paintwork. It’s quite a minimal cabin, but offers plenty of space for both passengers and cargo alike, without the masses of distractions found in modern models.
As you would expect following the restoration, the interior looks absolutely fantastic and now shows very few flaws indeed. Having covered very few miles since the restoration, both front seats appear to present themselves with only incredibly minor imperfections. The rear seats seem to have hardly been touched and seemingly show a fault-free finish.
Carpeting throughout the vehicle now of course presents itself like-new, having been replaced with a very high-quality kit from Exmoor. In addition to the retrimmed pieces, the cabin does still show plenty of original components, such as the headlining, which looks excellent for its age.
Also an original component, the dashboard does of course show signs of age to contact points, along with a minor crack on the right-hand side. There is also a small amount of damage to the clock surround, but the current keeper has a replacement piece ready for the new owner to install.

The Exterior

  • Restored exterior
  • Fresh blue paintwork
  • 16” Rostyle wheels
The classic Range Rover’s styling will forever stand as one of the most iconic designs ever produced. It's bold, simplistic, and emits retro classiness from any angle you choose. This particular example makes the design proud, sporting a restored exterior and a fresh coat of blue paint.
As the vehicle has seldom seen use since its restoration and respray, the blue paintwork presents itself very well. Upon close inspection, there are of course incredibly minor defects, such as a small chip in the nearside front wing. That being said, few examples of the classic Range Rover present themselves as well as this particular vehicle.
The car sits on a set of 16” Rostyle wheels, which present themselves very well for their age, with only a few marks and imperfections as pictured. As a bonus, the wheels are wrapped in a matching set of General Grabber A/T tyres with plenty of tread left to enjoy on, or indeed off the road.

The Mechanics

  • 3.5L V8
  • 4-speed manual
  • Runs and drives brilliantly
  • Rebuild mechanical components
Buyers will be glad to know that this Range Rover fires up without fault, and happily idles away, awaiting your next directions. The V8 engine and manual gearbox pair well to give you a reminder of just how a proper Range Rover should drive.
As the vehicle was treated to a thorough mechanical overhaul and rebuilt components as part of its restoration, this Range Rover now requires nothing to be enjoyed by the next lucky owner.

Summary

This classic Range Rover presents a fantastic opportunity to own a fully restored example of one of the most iconic vehicles ever produced. The vehicle is in fantastic condition both inside and out, and boasts excellent mechanical health.

If you’re looking for your next collection piece, this low-mileage Range Rover should be at the very top of your shopping list.
