The Appeal
The first-generation Range Rover, introduced in 1970, revolutionised the 4x4 market by combining genuine off-road capability with on-road comfort and refinement - a formula that continues to define the luxury SUV segment today. In that sense, it's a real trailblazer, and still carries a level of glamour that's hard to resist if you're into off-roading.
This Classic model has the more powerful 3.5 litre V8 that was fitted in the Rover SD1 saloon car, up from the standard 160ps to 190ps, adding more torque and smoothness to the 1800kg off roader. It stems from the highly desirable Suffix B period of production, featuring the cleaner, more minimalist design that has become increasingly sought-after by collectors and enthusiasts.
Having undergone extensive restoration work, this is a fine opportunity and will no doubt garner plenty of interest at auction.
