The Appeal
The Golf GTI wasn't a new idea, but the Simca 1100 TI definitely was. With its 1.3L Poissy engine producing 82 hp, borrowed from the brand's 1000 Rallye, this car pioneered the "hot hatch" concept, offering family buyers an extremely fun car that exploited the nimble chassis of the 1100.
Today, these cars are rare but well-remembered, as evidenced by this car's long-time current owner—it attracts plenty of attention whenever it's on the road. This may also be due to its yellow paint, which makes it so easily recognizable. Inside and out, it's in good condition, with a light patina that undoubtedly adds character.
We're told it passed from its first owner—the selling dealer's brother-in-law—to a friend, before the current owner acquired it in 2010 with just under 78,000 km on the clock. It was subsequently registered as a historic/classic vehicle. Now showing 83,500 km, it comes to market with a valid MOT until July 2031. An excellent example of an important and extremely rare sports sedan.
The seller states:
"This is a car I'm really going to miss; I've genuinely enjoyed driving it all these years. I think you'll feel the same way. I'm hoping to find just as much enjoyment with a slightly newer car."

✓ We want the transaction to run smoothly, just as you do, which is why cars and motorcycles registered in the UK and listed for sale on Car & Classic are subject to an HPI check to verify they have no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and are not subject to a financial lien, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also verify whether vehicles are registered as written off as a result of a total loss claim at the time the listing is placed on Car & Classic and we provide write-off category tags (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. The presence or absence of a tag does not, however, guarantee the vehicle's status and it is always helpful to conduct a full vehicle history check before making an offer on it.
