The Appeal
This is a TR6 with a twist. It was built in 2002 by Simon Knowles, Finance Director of specialist Moss and well-regarded TR6 guru. He created a purposeful, highly presented car that is good for up to 200bhp thanks to a host of detail modifications.
The specification includes a steel crankshaft, a gas flow head from Kent Cams, and triple Weber carburettors balanced on a rolling road. It is said to have received over £15,000 of restoration and improvements over the last 20 years.
The vendor acquired the car in 2018 from specialist TRGB. According to him, it is one of the fastest TR6s they’ve ever seen. He has used it extensively for extended country rallies. He reports that it has always been reliable. It is also in very good condition. Finished in smart Royal Blue with black interior trimmed in walnut, this is a very pretty car with a purposeful de-bumpered stance on Minilite-style alloys.
A good TR6 is a very good road or events weapon. This car, with its bluechip provenance and elevated specification, looks as tempting as it will surely be entertaining to drive.
