The Appeal


Is there anything quite as classic in the world of classic motoring as a British roadster with a rumbling V8? Before MG finally got around to doing the job officially an army of enthusiasts married the B roadster with the engine it always deserved - the 3.5litre Rover V8.   

Alongside the renowned 'Costello' cars are examples like this that have been carefully and professionally overhauled by marque specialists. It was reshelled in the 90s and gained that extra power, the classic theme completed by a fetching British Racing Green paint scheme.

It has been enthusiast owned and loved since and benefits from ongoing maintenance.  As a mark of that dedication, the current long term keeper has regularly MOT'd the car even though this is not legally required. 

Six years ago that included a full engine rebuild, a new clutch and gearbox rebuild.  The body was stripped and resprayed and the interior retrimmed. This lovely car has covered only 65 miles since.  This is a rare opportunity to benefit from all that work.  A long, advisory free MOT to March 2025 underlines the fine impression provided by the provenance and photographs.   

 
 

History and Paperwork

  • Car is finished in classic British Racing Green with a black interior trim - practically synonymous with the MGB
  • Bodywork has a high gloss finish with some age-commensurate wear
  • Paintwork resprayed in 2017, generally very presentable
  • Evidence of panel repair and paint pinpricks on the front scuttle
  • Original bonnet with a 'bulge' and some fine cracks
  • Brand New Old Stock metal MGB bonnet included in the sale
  • Chrome work in good condition with minimal corrosion

  • Underside is sound and dry, stored in a garage since 2015
  • Interior features refurbished seat frames, new foam, leather covers, new carpets, and new door and rear panel cards
  • Everthing here, as a result, is in superb fettle, with no rips or tears
  • Dashboard is nicely presented with a classic
