The Appeal
A particularly distinct moment in German automobile history, the 914 was a collaboration between Volkswagen and Porsche - Volkswagen seeking a new range-topper, and Porsche seeking a new entry–level sports car to replace the 912. It was a very distinct, boxy, contemporary car - and managed to become Porsche’s top seller while it was in production.
Compared to much of both manufacturers’ output, the 914 is a truly unique car - perhaps one of the defining sports cars of the 1970s - and now, this remarkable, restored example is ready and waiting for its new owner.
Picked out in a beguiling orange, with gilt wheels and a black soft top, this superb car is bound to attract plenty of attention both while at auction and when out on the road.
Exceptional orange paintwork with black trims and gilt accents
Soft top in excellent order
Ronall Kleeblatt 16” wheels, which have been picked out in gold
Continental style yellow fog lamp lenses
Pop-up headlights in good order
Underside is remarkably clean
Feast your eyes on the 200+ photo's to truly understand how good this car really is!
At first sight, this car is bound to light up the eyes of any enthusiast. It’s an utterly excellent ambassador for its model, with everything straight, sharp and stylish. We can spot very little sign of use, outside of stone chips under the bumpers.
Highly presented black interior
The definition of period styling with angular seats and dashboard
Brushed steel dashboard with minimal controls
Gear lever and instruments all in excellent order
Some age-commensurate wear to the likes of the Fasten Seat Belt sign
Momo-branded, leather-wrapped steering wheel
Door cards, carpets and headlining in good order
Excellent boot with solid floors, very cleanly presented
The personality of the 914 is equally on offer in the cabin. Angular, 70s-style lines really rule the day here, and it’s all in excellent order, with the only real signs of age being on the period lights and indicators. Not a single rip or tear, no scuffs or marks - it’s a resplendent place for both driver and passenger. VNzkjRFJyvbWlvZ3y75kz9B0tFt3IgWlF7epc0lF.jpg263.26 KB
