When Volkswagen launched its innovative Type 2 van, with its spacious cab-forward design, little did its designers know that it would find an endless afterlife as a quirky, stylish and much-loved camper van.
Simple mechanicals, those distinctive looks and a big, practical cabin have made the Type 2 a staple of the classic camper scene. The trick when buying one is to find the right specification and evidence of careful, enthusiast owners.
This stand-out 1974 T2 certainly ticks those boxes. There is no mistaking its ‘hit the beach’ vibe from its sunny yellow paintwork to the brightly retrimmed cabin. In excellent, very usable condition with a practical layout this is a great opportunity to dive into the classic camper scene and enjoy some memorable family trips.
