The Appeal
For those with deep pockets for whom the Rolls-Royce grille was just a little too ‘outre’, there was the Bentley T1. Considered the ‘refined’ alternative to the Silver Shadow, it was the much rarer choice with only 1,703 being built during its long production run.
This 1975 example adds to the exclusivity with its attractive two-tone Pewter over Moorland Green paintwork, the colour split by a smart gold coachline. It was refreshed a few years ago and remains in good order. The same is true of the beige leather cabin, which is highly original and presents a light level of patina that suits this characterful saloon.
This car spent 20 years in the UK before moving to Jersey for a similar period. It returned to these shores in 2022.
A vast history file attests to the care and attention of its handful of keepers. Much of the work has been undertaken by names that will be familiar to marque aficionados. Recent work includes a service, new alternator, oil cooler, hoses, voltage regulator and attention to the wiring, Various trim parts have also been attended to.
This is a really lovely, handsome example of the rare T1.
