1976 Bedford CF Van Professional Bar Conversion

Highlights

• A professionally converted Bedford CF van now providing a lucrative mobile bar business opportunity
• Fully equipped bar suitable for two bartenders and a 20-minute set up / break down
• Potential turnover approximately £500 per hour in busy locations

The Background

The Bedford CF van was introduced in 1969 and was Vauxhall’s answer to the Ford Transit van. The vans were available in a range of configurations and quickly became a common sight carrying and delivering up and down the land in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s.

Due to the good head-height and boxy dimensions of the CF they became a popular choice for the ice cream sector. It is believed this example started life as and ice cream van.

The History

This CF bar conversion is believed to have had a relatively recent and highly professional conversion and the fittings and conversion are to a high standard.

The conversion includes twin coolers and no less than eight fully working draught pumps, optics and all the accompaniments you would expect from a professional mobile bar.

Very usefully this CF includes an outside bar area that hooks onto vehicle via pre machined hangers. This outside bar set-up includes two folding pub benches, including parasols, two poseur tables and bar stools. This professional set up easily allows for two bartenders to work together, as well as outside seating for 12 people in addition to standing capacity.

The Paperwork

Paperwork included, the current V5. We believe the CF is registered as a Historic Vehicle and as such we understand it to be tax and MOT exempt.

The Interior

The CF has been tastefully and characterfully converted as can be seen from our photographic package. The fitted chillers provide capacity for 200+ cans or bottles and there is additional storage for up to 60 bottles of wine or spirits. There is a range of optics, a built an ice maker, a range of newly purchased tools together with various serving mats, an ice bucket and even a last orders bell!

The professional fit out includes copper sheeting as a stylish back drop, stainless steel counters and a hinged side shutter. Working mood lighting is also fitted to help provide a warm atmosphere and ambience.

The Exterior

The exterior of the CF appears to be in great condition and the turquoise and white colourway provides an eye-catching and retro feel to the bar. Ideal for a range of situations including festivals, parks, country fairs or even additional static facilities at pub or hotel locations.

There are lots of quirky details included in the finish of the CF which helps to promote a fun and carefree ambience and making it a nice place to spend time and enjoy a social drink with friends.

The Mechanics

The CF is powered by a Perkins diesel engine and is able to be driven onto a trailer under its own power for transportation. Given its age and size, however, it is configured to be towed to venue via the supplied A-frame towing rig or suited to a static venue.

The comprehensive fit out includes a full 240 volt hook up or alternatively can be easily connected to a generator (not included) for full remote capability.

The Appeal

The appeal of this Bedford CF bar conversion is that it provides a self-contained and fully configured business opportunity that is ready to generate a significant income in the right venue. The current owner reports that a turnover of £500 per hour is attainable in busy locations.

The standard and quality of the conversion appears to be very high and is designed to exude a very vibrant, fun, and retro ambience which is very popular currently. As such, the CF would suit a wide range of venues, events, and locations. Truly a “business on wheels” we believe this CF provides the new owner everything they need to start earning from day one and, as such, is a business opportunity not to be missed.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
