The Appeal
The Z900 evolved from the Z1, Kawasaki’s response to Honda’s CB750 and one of the greatest Japanese bikes of the 1970s. This DOHC air-cooled inline four literally turned the American motorcycle market on its head, delivering a quick, sporting and above all, reliable bike to challenge the status quo.
All of which makes the Z900 collectable and very usable. This 1977 example arrived in the UK in 2015 and has been extensively restored to factory standard specification. The extensive chrome brightwork and smart dark green metallic tank are all in good order. It features may factory-correct details such as the ND dials and Takasago rims.
With a few miles since completion, it remains in very good order. The joy of the Z900 is that it is as much a static visual treat as a rewarding ride. This well-sorted example delivers at a high level in both areas.
