The Appeal
Nearly 50 years on from the final cars leaving the Coventry works, it’s surely time to consider the Stagh anew. Shorn of the strife that surrounded its early gestation, this pretty four seat convertible is surely one of the best cars produced by the British motor industry. That rumbly 3L V8 certainly imbues it with the greatest soundtrack.
The later cars got light styling modifications, notable alloy wheels and pinstriping that arguably made them better looking. This very late 1977 car retains that characterful engine mated to a desirable 4spd manual gearbox with overdrive. It was restored in the late 1990s, a process carefully documented in the large history file. And now presents in attractive Pimento red. Inside the spacious cabin is in good order and benefits from a veneer retrim in burr walnut.
The car has been little used since its last MOT in 2017 and presents in good, usable condition.
The vendor says:
"I would describe it as a good useable car that is a great cruiser."
