The Appeal
Back in the '80s, nothing in the world was more dramatic than the supercar, and if you wanted real drama, you'd have to look no further than the Countach. Styled by the equally charismatic Marcello Gandini, who had become one of the top design brass at Bertone with no formal design experience, it was a perfect time capsule for the era. A wedge-shaped, low-down, aggressive-looking machine that looked fast when standing still.
The Countach was solid gold the moment it hit the market, but the Series 2 arguably drenched it in platinum for good measure, improving the dynamics with wider Pirelli P7 tyres, modified suspension, and a lower ride height that also packed even more visual drama into its impeccable form. To this day, it's breathtaking. Just drink in those dramatic wing doors, the hand-finished jet-black cabin, those Campagnolo wheels...
The Lamborghini Countach is one of Italy's greatest rarities, with only 237 ever built, and the car became a much-loved bedroom wall poster for an entire generation, ushering in a whole new level of petrolheads to now cherish it. With just 65,246 km on the odometer, this is a seriously rare, seriously desirable oppportunity. One for the truly dedicated, dyed-in-the-wool collector looking to fulfil a lifelong dream.

Low-to-the-surface, dramatically angled and sleek, the Countach conjures up something of an ocean predator rather than a car. It's a detailed, highly organic and fearlessly futuristic design. This handsome example is no exception to this, with perfectly presented angles and curves across the bodywork. The lights are flawlessly integrated, the glasswork flows beautifully, and the rear spoiler is the only thing to break its silhouette. The back wheels are original, while the front pair are later fittings, but still accurate to the car.
We can't spot any significant wear to the bodywork, and inside the black leather cabin, all is equally fine. The upholstery is free of rips and tears, the instruments are clear and legible, and the dashboard the dashboard has been completely reupholstered in a sharp, clean Alcantara. Elsewhere we can spot a little bit of patina to the chrome around the ashtray, some soft rubbing to the seatbelt enclosures; nothing out of the ordinary, and nothing of concern. The interior reflects the philosophy of the Countach: everything at the service of the driver, with a direct and unfiltered connection between man and machine.
This is all just another tribute to pure exceptionalism. Under the hood sits a beast of a 12-cylinder engine. Unlike the Miura, perhaps one of the car's closest cousins, this incredible plant is longitudinally mounted, a layout that was unusual in its day, and only really seen in the Ferrari P-series racing cars. Through a lot of clever tinkering, the engine was sandwiched between the mid-mounted transmission and the rear-mounted differential, which balanced the car and made for a magnificent experience for the well-to-do behind the wheel.
We understand this example is in fine mechanical order, and we can't spot any issues or glaring problems under the bonnet. We understand the car to be mechanically standard throughout, and reportedly ready to go.
