The Appeal

There's one classic convertible you'll see more than any other on Car & Classic. It is, of course, the Mercedes-Benz SL. This Teutonic titan of roadsters has always been the best in its class, trouncing all opposition on performance, looks, engineering and build quality. The R107 is a particular favourite among enthusiasts and we're always delighted to offer fine examples like this 380 SL from 1980.

UK-supplied and equipped with the most compact V8 Mercedes-Benz offered at the time, this is a compelling example - even on spec alone. As the pictures show, it's in lovely condition and remains highly original throughout, resplendent in the most period-correct of colour schemes.

Complete with a superb soft-top and its matching factory hard top, this SL is ready for a new lucky owner.
