The Appeal
Ducati’s current hegemony began here. After the missteps of the late 70s, the firm finally embraced Fabio Taglioni’s plans for a V Twin with belt-driven camshafts, the evocatively named ‘Desmo’ engine. The first bike to display this technology was the Pantah.
Alongside the engine, the Pantah got a trellis-style frame with a suspended engine. It was light, well-balanced and handled brilliantly. As riders quickly discovered, it cornered quite unlike anything else available.
Here is a chance to discover what all that fuss was about with a low-mileage, highly original and unmodified Pantah 500. Very well presented with its original paintwork, which the vendor says is ‘like new,’ and features its original Conti exhaust, front fork and rear Marzocchi. We’re told that it comes with Revisione valid to August 2027. It has been recently serviced including new fluids, filter, plugs, belts and battery.
The Pantah is a great ride and a highly collectable classic bike. This one is both original, low mileage and very well kept.
