The most
Produced from 1966 to 1984, the "Shovelhead" engine was a mainstay of the Harley Davidson range. It's a truly iconic engine, with a beautiful sound and impressive torque - exactly what you'd expect from an American cruiser built for the motorway. Its cylinder head covers resemble the back of an upturned coal shovel - hence the name. Most were mated to four-speed gearboxes, but for two years (1981-1983) FXRS models were offered with a five-speed gearbox - like the one pictured here.
The vendor acquired this FXRS Lowrider in 2019, and following minor mechanical issues, had the engine rebuilt in 2021. Only 5,000 km have been covered since then. With many new parts, it is said to offer excellent road holding and, as the photos show, this Harley has everything to please.DSCF2087 benathan jacques.JPG1.46 MB
