Highlights
- Very authentic example, in its original specification
- In the current owner's hands for approximately 12 years
- Two previous registered keepers before the current owner
The Appeal
The BMW R 80 G/S is one of the most iconic adventure motorcycles of its era. With its air-cooled 800 cc horizontally opposed twin, upright riding position and renowned reputation for toughness, it established itself as a versatile mount, equally at home on long-distance trips as on less conventional routes. Its concept did much to shape the big-capacity trail segment, a category that remains very popular today.
This 1983 example in green has been in the hands of its current owner since 2014. Before him, the motorcycle is said to have had only two registered keepers. Presented in a very near-original condition, it retains a light patina that reflects its age without, according to the seller, detracting from its overall appearance.
Regularly maintained, it comes with three recent invoices. The bodywork is described as sound and in very good condition, while the seat and mechanical components also appear well preserved. A motorcycle with character for fans of classic BMWs and historic trail bikes.
