Available in a huge range of flavours from humble diesel to autobahn-storming six-cylinder petrol, Mercedes-Benz’ three-box saloon is now a sought-after classic. Those engineering qualities that made it so versatile when new, make it perfect as a classic daily driver or weekend show star.
This smart Champagne metallic 230E would suit either role. A well-specified car - it has a sunroof and a Zebrano wood interior - with extensive service records, it is also remarkably unused for a W123. The odometer shows less than 55,000 miles from new.
