If you were a self-professed petrolhead in the 80s, chances are you weren't just aware of the Golf - you adored the Golf. This was Volkswagen's golden age, and it felt like the Golf really could do no wrong. 

This 1985 is particularly desirable as an early Mk2 model, featuring the sought-after quarterlights on doors and distinctive 7-slat grille. It's a subtle difference, but if you know, you know, and besides that, it's simply an excellent car.
