History & Paperwork
- First registered to the first owner on the 1st of August 1986 by supplying dealers The Mercedes-Benz Car & Truck Centre in North London.
- 5 stamps in the service book, the latest in April 2018
- Copies of all MoT Certificates to date
- Acquired by the second owner on the 29th of March 2018 with approximately 27,000 miles on the clock. A subsequent Mot in May 2018 states the mileage to be 27,708 miles
- The Vendor will have the car MoT’d before passing on to the new keeper which will be valid for approximately 12 months

Finished to complement the exterior metallic green, the beautiful cabin of this 420 is finished in green valour with a purple edging, with the carpets, dash and door cards tastefully finishing the overall good looks.
It really is all in fabulous condition reflecting its general lack of use over the years, with no visible blemishes to mention.
Dashboard wood trim is in good condition, with all buttons and switches showing little wear. The vendor tells us that all electrics woks as expected.

As you’ll see, the exterior of this Mercedes would appear to be very original.
There are a few areas which could be improved and are visible in the photos, but in our opinion, nothing serious to worry about, just a little bubbling below the surface which localised remedial painting would remedy. This is mainly around the boot and bonnet edges and appears to be superficial.
There are one or two small scratches to the bumper corners and a little chrome lifting on the bumper trims, but again easily rectifiable to an enthusiastic owner.
From only a few feet away, this Mercedes 420SE still has all the looks of the luxury executive saloon which Mercedes intended it to be.
Mechanics
Driven by the vendor to the photoshoot location, he tells us that the car drives well, picks up through the gears nicely and is very well balanced throughout.
Certainly, when being moved around the big V8 engine sounded smooth with the auto gearbox snicking into drive and reverse without any issues.
She ticked over quietly and would appear to be in fine fettle. Under the bonnet is tidy and pretty much as it left the factory.
It has had very little use over the last few months and before passing on to its new keeper, the 420 will be fully serviced by specialists German Autocare Ltd of Leeds to Mercedes schedules for that period car.
This will include replacement of all fluids ie , engine & gearbox oil, brake fluid, coolant and anti-freeze. Spark plugs will be replaced, wheels will be removed, discs and brakes will be inspected, and a full underbody inspection will be carried out.
Summary
This is a very well looked after example of the sought after Mercedes 420SE , which is in exceptional original condition throughout.
Use it as is for many years to come or sort out the small paintwork blemishes and show it as a truly original example of this ’80 classic , the choice is yours , but they’ll not be many around with such low mileage so one to cherish and enjoy we suggest.
