The Appeal

The Series 3 Spider took inspiration from Alfa’s ‘aerodynamica’ show car to update the 105 Duetto’s classic lines for a new era. These later cars are rated for their comfort and usability, which explains their enduring popularity with enthusiasts.

This 1987 car is fitted with the larger 2L version of Alfa’s sweet-revving twin cam ‘Nord’ engine. It is fitted with the revised dashboard and sports retrimmed black seats with smart red stitching. We’re told that it has been extensively restored, something that the photos bear out.

The vendor tells us that the car is in great running order and benefits from a long list of recent work by an Italian car specialist. This includes a full service, new rear trailing arms, suspension bushes, carburettor overhaul, Bilstein shock absorbers, replacement engine mounts, new hand brake cable plus replacing the differential and gearbox fluids.
