The Appeal
The 924 is arguably the Porsche from the last 40 years that has stuck truest to Ferdinand’s ideal of a light, nimble car with reasonable power. The final 924S pushed that formula to its limits by adding the 2.5L engine from the 944, tuned to 148bhp.
This 924S is likely one of the last built, registered in the final year of production and finished in classic Guards Red. It is a really tidy, pleasingly unmodified and clearly cherished example. It even retains the decals and teledial alloys that mark out these last cars.
The car’s vast history file is a testament to the care of its handful of keepers. The current MOT highlights a few jobs for the buyer to consider, but it runs to June 2026. It has also been recently serviced. The balanced transaxle 924 is a great way into the Porsche experience. This car looks very usable, with scope for the buyer to add value.
The vendor says:
“Original guards red car with all original features. Requires minor works to bring it up to a very high spec. Due to be Tax and MOT exempt in less than 3 years' time. Only six previous owners. Well maintained throughout previous ownership and my ownership, with major service carried out this year.”
