The Appeal

This particular example has been off the road for over twenty years, so will require some fettling in order to return it to normal use. But once complete, it will certainly prove its worth as a thrillingly powerful ‘80s sports car. 

The History and Paperwork

• The car was registered 1st August 1989 and the official release date was September 1989
• The car has no digital record of having had an MOT 
• Correspondence from the Jaguar Heritage Trust, confirming that the car was originally painted in Jaguar Racing Green and was the first of 57 in this colour and model
• Original owner’s literature on file, including owner's handbook, supplement, sound system instructions, pre-delivery inspection card, forecourt data card and dealership directory. 
• The service book runs from May 1990 to June 2000
• Believed to have been kept in storage for about 20 years
• There is a print out of work undertaken by Guy Salmon from 1990 to 1999
• Comes with some invoices and an MOT certificate from 1999

• Having been stored unused, the car will require recommissioning

The Interior

• Smart beige upholstery 
• The leather remains in good condition, with signs of use
• The driver’s seat in particular shows some wear, but remains serviceable
• Heated front seats 
• Distinctive four-spoke steering wheel 
• The door cards are clean and tidy
• The headlining is sagging 
• Tastefully applied walnut trim
• The veneers look generally good, but there are some splits in the lacquer
• Some of the switches in the centre console are insecure

The Exterior 

• Sleek, low styling 
• XKR-S features, including bodykit
• Finished in Jaguar Racing Green
• The paint is showing signs of wear
• There are scratches, chips and blemishes throughout
• Some small spots of corrosion can be found 
• Lamp lenses appear clear and bright 
• Headlight wipers
• Rear spoiler 
• The chrome trim is generally good 
• Some lacquer peel to the bootlid
• The alloy wheels are scuffed and one is particularly corroded
• Pirelli P6000 tyres fitted
• There is a little cracking to some of the sidewalls
